VOLUNTEER

Volunteers are the backbone of the organization. With no paid staff, the station is manned by volunteer docents with a love of local Cucamonga history and our rich Route 66 heritage. Volunteers also help with fundraising events throughout the year.

Volunteer opportunities include:
Volunteers are asked to be members of the Cucamonga Service Station ($25 annually)

Museum Docents
Our docents are the public face of the station. They are the ones who greet visitors, answer questions, guide visitors through the museum exhibits and sell souvenirs in our gift shop.
Training is provided but docents must be comfortable talking with people in an engaging and friendly manner and learning to use a computerized sales register.
The station is currently open Thursday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
The commitment for docents is a minimum of two days per month. Docents will also be asked to help sell products or represent the station at occasional off-site events as available.

General Volunteers
These volunteers are important to our success and are generally used in various roles during fundraising events such as our annual car show or other events as available.

Board of Directors
The Cucamonga Service Station is governed by a member elected Board of Directors and an appointed President who directs the vision and mission of the organization and manages the administrative operations.

Those with a good business, nonprofit management, or other applicable and beneficial backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply.
